Job Title: Loader - Cedar Rapids

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Loader for our 1st shift in Cedar Rapids, IA. This role involves loading trucks and assisting with machine shop and utility duties. You will be responsible for handling materials, organizing loads, and maintaining a clean shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with machine operating duties on shears, press brakes, and other equipment.
• Occasionally grind or de burr parts for the welding team.
• Assist in the paint booth as needed.
• Gather raw material and maintain a clean shop environment.
• Operate end loader, front end loader, and bobcats.
• Load finished material onto flatbed trucks in an organized manner.
• Follow written work orders to ensure correct parts are loaded.
• Layout and plan flatbed loads, including beams anywhere from 8ft to 50ft+.
• Stage and build orders of finished structural steel.
• Work in outbound or loaded areas, transitioning between inside and outside environments.
• Move materials weighing multiple tons and up to 30 ft long, working in teams.
• Maintain a high level of communication and teamwork.

Essential Skills

• Materials handling experience.
• Inventory management and shipping & receiving expertise.
• Effective communication and organization skills.
• Manufacturing operations knowledge.
• Proficiency with forklifts, pallet jacks, front end loaders, and bobcats.
• Loading and unloading trucks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience in a production welding environment.

Work Environment

Work primarily on the 1st shift from 6 am to 2:30 pm. The role involves a mix of shop floor duties and office tasks, including building trucks and communicating with fabricators. Dress code requires long pants, sleeved shirts, steel-toed boots, and a welding hood with steel toes and met covers. Expect to work primarily outdoors and occasionally in the elements.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.

The pay range for this position is $20.40 - $24.70/hr.
