Marketing and Content Manager

About the Role

IAPD is seeking a Marketing and Content Manager to support the execution of marketing initiatives that promote the performance plastics industry and strengthen member engagement.

This is a hands-on role focused on marketing execution, messaging and content development across channels . You will help plan and deliver campaigns, develop clear and compelling communications and ensure consistency across email, social media, web and print.

This role reflects the modern marketing environment, including the use of tools such as AI to support content development and workflow efficiency. The ideal candidate is a practical, results-oriented marketer who can take direction, manage multiple priorities and produce polished, on-brand work.

This is not a purely creative or editorial role. It is a marketing role with strong content responsibilities .

What You’ll Do

Marketing execution

• Execute marketing campaigns supporting events, education and advocacy initiatives
• Develop messaging and content that supports campaign goals and audience engagement
• Manage content calendars and coordinate timing across channels
• Collaborate with internal team members to align messaging and visuals

Content and communications

• Develop and refine content for email, social media, websites, newsletters and promotional materials
• Translate technical or industry topics into clear, accessible messaging
• Use tools, including AI-supported workflows, to efficiently produce and enhance content
• Maintain and update website and digital content

Editorial and content oversight

• Review and refine content from internal teams, member companies and external contributors
• Ensure communications are clear, consistent and aligned with IAPD’s voice and priorities
• Support content planning and storytelling initiatives

Digital and performance

• Track engagement across email, social media and web platforms
• Adjust messaging and content based on performance insights
• Support efforts to strengthen IAPD’s digital presence

Member engagement

• Work with committees, volunteer leaders and member companies to develop and source content
• Conduct interviews and gather insights to highlight industry applications and innovations
• Encourage members to share news, stories and content ideas

Visual content support

• Create and adapt simple visual assets to support marketing content, including social media graphics and email visuals
• Work within templates and brand guidelines using tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud or Canva

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in marketing, communications or a related role
• Demonstrated ability to execute marketing campaigns and produce content across multiple channels
• Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to develop clear, professional marketing messages
• Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Experience using modern tools and technologies, including AI-supported platforms , to improve efficiency
• Ability to translate technical or industry topics into accessible marketing content
• Comfortable working collaboratively with internal teams, external contributors and volunteer groups
• Familiarity with AP style
• Working knowledge of basic graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Cloud or Canva) to create simple, effective visuals
• Experience with email marketing platforms (such as Higher Logic or Constant Contact) and social media tools

Work Environment

• Onsite position in Overland Park, Kansas
• Travel required approximately 9–10 days per year

Compensation

Salary is based on experience and qualifications.
