Shipping & Receiving Clerk | Fremont, MI

Salary Range: $45,000 - $65,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
• Accurately document and record all received goods into the inventory management system.
• Prepare, package, and label outgoing shipments according to company and carrier requirements.
• Schedule and coordinate freight pickups with various shipping carriers.
• Load and unload trucks using appropriate equipment, ensuring safe and efficient handling of materials.
• Maintain organized and clean receiving and shipping areas.
• Conduct regular inventory cycle counts and assist with physical inventory audits.
• Communicate discrepancies, damages, or shortages to relevant departments and supervisors.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a shipping or receiving environment, preferably in manufacturing.
• Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
• Ability to operate forklifts or other material handling equipment (certification may be required or preferred).
• Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
• Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects and stand for extended periods.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with inventory management software beyond basic data entry
• Forklift certification
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
• Basic understanding of export/import documentation requirements
