Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with project teams to understand electrical design requirements and objectives.
- Developing electrical designs, including system layouts, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Utilizing CAD software to create and modify electrical drawings.
- Designing electrical systems for various applications.
- Specifying and selecting electrical components, equipment, and materials.
- Ensuring that electrical designs adhere to industry standards, electrical codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineers and architects.
- Integrating electrical systems into overall project designs, addressing design-related issues and providing design solutions.
- Creating and maintaining organized documentation of electrical designs, including drawings, specifications, and bills of materials (BOMs).
- Preparing technical reports and documentation for project deliverables, and performing quality checks.
- Reviewing electrical designs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project goals.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Experience as an Electrical Designer or a similar role.
- Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design.
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and design practices.
- Familiarity with electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE).
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality electrical designs.
- Ability to collaborate within a team and with project stakeholders.
- Experience with detail design of battery systems, chargers, inverters, UPS, and DC Fuse Panels.
- Seven or more years with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical and CAD Overlay experience.
- Capable of preparing single line, elementary, and wiring diagrams with little oversight.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with PLC programming and control systems.
- Ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors.
Special Considerations:
- Ability to travel to plants within the client's footprints.
